Anietie was born to Deaconess Dorcas and Late Mr. Patrick Umoffia, on November 2, 1980 in Calabar, Cross River State, and grew up as the youngest of seven. Typical of most great musical acts, she started off singing with a Church choir and a rapidly emerging children’s group named Shallom Kids, performing her first solo ”Jesus Wants Me For A Sun Beam” at about age seven at the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Efut Parish, Calabar. </div>

Anietie’s performances continued on various platforms and choirs such as PinseKirken in Esbjerg, Denmark, Christian Unity Chapel Choir of FGGC Calabar, Family Worship Center Abuja, Lagos Community Gospel Choir (LCGC) and The Living Vessels (TLV) of FUT Minna, where she learnt how to write songs and experienced the most growth musically. She is also a pioneer member of the Prophetic Praise Summit (PPS), Abuja and has served as backup singer and worship leader in a number of these groups.</div>

As one who stayed plugged in to music at different stages of her life, Anietie heard everything from Gospel legends Bob Fitts and the Maranatha Singers, Ron Kenoly, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, Panam Percy Paul, Andre Crouch, Ray Boltz to Karen Clark Sheard, Cece Winans, Darlene Zschech, Hillsong, Israel Houghton, Martha Munizi, The Tommies, amongst others. The influence of these gospel greats combined with family upbringing and a consistent participation in musical endeavors helped to shape her as a singer. </div>

After many years of drawing inspiration from those that have gone before her as well as her own life experiences, she started composing her own songs. In 2004 she recorded her first single, and announced herself as professional with the release of her 12-track album titled ‘Revealed’ in August, 2013. </div>

Anietie's evolution saw her progression in music coupled with her talent as an Ardent Blogger and her emergence as a Keynote Speaker. After several years of keeping the world waiting, the wife and mother of three kids has released a high – spirited smash hit single entitled ‘My Whole Life’, produced by iChek, as well as shot the music video, so is a potential album dropping soon? Only time will tell. </div>

I want to express my profound gratitude to the whole of Idoma nation and indeed people from all walks of life for your various contributions in one way or the other in making the 2017 edition of Idoma International carnival a huge success. It was a collective and colaborative effort which has shown that the carnival which began in 2013 as a little idea has grown to become a big voice and a rallying point for the whole of Idoma nation especially in the area of cultural reneisanse, showcasing and exposing our cultural heritage to the world, youth empowerment,tourism,  economic recovery, and and indeed a spring board to the much needed peace and unity without which there can</div>

be no meaningful development in a dear land.</div>

I also want to use this rare privilege to encourage our sons and daughters at home and in  diaspora and indeed their friends to come home every December, not just to savour the moment but to join hands to move Idomaland forward.</div>

Even though it is very difficult to mention names of individuals and organisations who made the 2017 Idoma International carnival memorable,  I am compelled to single out Idoma National Forum led by its president, Bar Amali Adoya Amali and all the members, the cultural troupes from all the nine Local Governments in Idomaland, the chairman of Otukpo Local Government who doubles as the ALGON Chairman in Zone C of Benue State, members of the board of trustees,  Hero lager beer who were our major and number one sponsor and others too numerous to mention for want of time and space.</div>

The journey to more memorable and bigger carnival in 2018 has begun and we invite all well meaning sons, daughters, friends of Idomaland,  and organisations to join the train as we are open to new ideas and innovations on how to move our land to the next level of development.</div>
